Our Facility

Spring 2009 saw the completion of a new £30 million, state of the art factory and office complex. In just over 3 years from concept to the official opening in May 2009, The Kerrygold Company has created the most efficient and environmentally friendly cheese packing facility in Europe. This attitude underlines our commitment to be responsive to our customers, be first for innovation and ensures we will remain at the forefront of the UK's cheese preparation, packing and supply for many years to come.

Occupying 15,500m2 the new facility employs 550 people and is a 24/7 business operation. Currently packing over 60,000 tonnes of cheese a year, the new factory has a capacity to grow to well over 80,000 tonnes/annum, with storage and services similarly increased to support this anticipated future demand.

Setting a new benchmark in food hygiene standards for cheese packing, the new factory has incorporated best practice elements from other fresh food industries in the UK and abroad. These include high- and low-care protocol production areas, greater air filtration and increased temperature control.
